Description
It features an ultra-fast MPPT controller that improves energy harvesting. This controller monitors the battery’s state of charge and increases the load disconnection level daily if necessary.
Ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT)
Especially under cloudy skies, when light intensity is constantly changing, an ultra-fast MPPT controller will improve energy harvesting by up to 30% compared to PWM charge controllers, and up to 10% compared to slower MPPT controllers.
Load Output:
Over-discharge of the battery can be prevented by connecting all loads to the load output. This output will disconnect the load when the battery is discharged, reaching a preset voltage.
You can also choose to set up an intelligent battery management algorithm: see BatteryLife. The charging output is short-circuit protected.
Some loads (especially inverters) can be connected directly to the battery, and the inverter’s remote control to the charging output. A special interface cable may be required; please refer to the manual.
BatteryLife:
Intelligent Battery Management
When a solar charge controller is unable to fully recharge the battery in a single day, the battery cycle continuously switches between “partially charged” and “end of discharge” states. This mode of operation (without periodic full recharges) will destroy a lead-acid battery within weeks or months.
The BatteryLife algorithm will monitor the battery’s state of charge and, if necessary, gradually increase the load disconnection level (i.e., disconnect the load sooner) until sufficient solar energy is collected to recharge the battery to nearly 100%. From that point on, the level of load disconnection will be modulated to achieve a near 100% recharge approximately once a week.
