Description
The Germany flag features three horizontal bands of black, red, and gold and is used both as a courtesy flag by foreign vessels and as the national ensign by German-registered craft. Smaller sizes are typically flown as courtesy flags when entering German waters, while larger sizes are suitable for display as the vessel’s national flag. Manufactured from marine-grade polyester, the flag is designed for durability and colour stability in marine environments. Courtesy flags should be flown from the starboard spreader or a designated courtesy flag halyard, while the national flag should be displayed at the stern or on a stern-mounted flagstaff in accordance with established maritime practice.
