Got fed up with unreliable, stinky petrol outboards so bought a Talamex T30 for our old Avon Redcrest. This is the smallest of the range, but it propels us silently at 3-4 kts in still water, and we have made (slow) progress in 20kts of wind with 2kts of current.

We paired it with a 60ah LiFePo battery and a Victron Smart Shunt. We get maybe 3 hours running out of a full charge. We use Anderson connectors for trouble-free connect/disconnect.

Work out what model you will be happy with. You will swap speed for silence and reliability. Enjoy!
